The SR-L500, a mid-range model in the Advanced Lambda series, has also undergone minor changes, just like the SR-L700 MK2. The moving parts have been re-cabled and the case holder made of aluminum to increase the strength and improve usability. Unnecessary distortion and twisting have been reduced, and the fit has been greatly improved. This model uses fixed electrodes with highly accurate etching to increase the transmittance of sound waves at the opening. Although it is differentiated from the sound unit of the higher-end model SR-L700 MK2, it retains structural commonalities such as a low-resonance housing and a 10-step click-type arc assay. A wide parallel low-capacity cable made of HiFC (※) conductors, which add a very small amount of titanium to copper to improve transmission and softening characteristics, is used. In addition, ear pads developed specifically for this model have been optimized in terms of sound quality and cost performance.
Re-cable compatible
In recent years, we have adopted a replaceable cable structure (re-cable structure), which has become a trend in high-quality headphones. This improves the usability of the ear speaker by enabling future support for high-quality cables and easy maintenance against unexpected disconnections. The SR-L500MK2 comes with a parallel 6-core wide low-capacity cable that uses HiFC. This conductor, which is made of copper with a very small amount of titanium added, is characterized by its excellent transmission characteristics as well as its softening properties, making it easy to handle.
Aluminum case holder
The change in material has allowed for a more flexible mechanism design. In the MK2 model, the case holder has been changed from the conventional linear design to a gently curved design, which has the effect of making the ear pads fit more naturally to the side of the head. In addition, the high rigidity makes it less likely for unnecessary distortion or twisting to occur when worn, and the fit (degree of adhesion) has been greatly improved. In open-type ear speakers, increased adhesion when worn greatly contributes to improved low-frequency reproduction.
The diaphragm
is made of a carefully selected, high-quality, ultra-thin film. A new stainless steel electrode has been developed that is strong, extremely flat, and has low resonance. It achieves high resolution from a solid, taut low range to a delicate high range.
Newly designed wide low capacitance HiFC cable
The core wire is made of new high quality material HiFC cable. The structure is the same original wide parallel type as before to reduce the inter-wire capacitance. This improves the "freshness of the sound". The terminal part is coated with pure gold.
Click-type arc
adjustment: Equipped with a 10-step click mechanism to adjust the position of the head pad. Once adjusted, it will always maintain the optimal position. Together with the soft headband, it provides an optimal fit and is comfortable to listen to for long periods of time.
Artificial leather ear pads:
The ear pads are made of carefully selected artificial leather, carefully crafted by artisans, with comfort as the top priority. They provide a comfortable fit even for long periods of listening, and optimal support for the "freshness of sound" and "quality of sound."
