Flagship model equipped with multi-layer fixed electrode MLER-2
The SR-009, which was released in 2011, had ideas for further improving sound quality that had not yet been realized at the time of its completion. The new flagship model, the SR-009S, is a concrete embodiment of these ideas. The multi-layer fixed electrode MLER developed for the SR-009 has evolved into the second generation MLER2. By repeating the etching process of the electrode opening twice, air resistance has been further reduced and sound wave permeability has been further improved. In addition, the fixed electrode has been gold-plated to improve its specific gravity and conductivity, achieving low resonance and high-speed transmission characteristics. The shape of the housing and guard mesh has also been changed to bring it closer to a more natural sound. It has taken the three-dimensional reproduction of hall tones and other sounds to a new level, and has evolved into a sound that is silky yet powerful in texture and pitch.
Second generation fixed electrode MLER-2
The multi-layer fixed electrode MLER (Multi-Layer-Elect-Rords) established in the SR-009 has evolved into the MLER2. The finish etching process to smooth the edges of the electrode opening reduces air resistance and further improves the permeability of sound waves. In addition, the electrode itself is gold-plated with a high specific gravity to minimize the resonance of the ultra-thin electrode. At the same time, the gold plating reduces the electrical resistance of the electrode itself, opening up new horizons in high speed and clearness, silky yet powerful texture and pitch in the fundamental range, and precise reproduction of the so-called three-dimensional coordinates of the whole tone.
The SR-009S uses a diaphragm made of an extremely thin super engineering plastic film, and its extremely light weight, close to zero, achieves extremely excellent transient characteristics. The sound proves that excellent transient characteristics are necessary not only in the high range but also in the mid-low range.
A new, more robust machined aluminum
housing has been designed for the main body, with the thickness of each part reviewed. The sound unit can be firmly fixed, and the resonance of the housing itself and the thickness of the housing have been reduced to the utmost limit to achieve a lightweight design while also making the flow of sound waves from the unit smoother.
Curved Guard Mesh
The basic structure of the SR-009S is an open-air type, but the "guard mesh" that protects the outer sound-producing body is curved to increase its strength and reduce the effects of reflections to suppress the behavior of unwanted sounds inside the main body.
Original wide low-capacity hybrid cable made of 6N (99.9999%) OFC + silver-plated soft copper wire.
The highly rated 6N OFC (φ0.14 x 3) is used for the center wire, and six silver-plated soft copper wires (φ0.08 x 9) are arranged around it. The overall structure is most suitable for electrostatic type voltage transmission, and inherits the wide original parallel type that minimizes the inter-wire capacitance. The "freshness of the sound" is not compromised in the slightest.
Genuine leather ear pads
The idea of "human-friendly" universal design is evident in the ear pads as well. High-quality genuine leather is used for the material that comes into direct contact with the skin. The breathability and flexibility of genuine leather greatly improve the fit to the head. The side pressure on the ears is achieved by using a dual arc spring system, which achieves both strength and flexibility. Like the SR-009, the headphones naturally follow the daily movement of your head while listening, allowing you to enjoy music comfortably.
Arc Assy with 10-step Adjust Click
The Arc Assy is equipped with a 10-step click mechanism for adjusting the height of the head pad. It provides an optimal fit for the different sizes and shapes of human skulls. Once adjusted, it will always maintain the optimal position, so there is no need to adjust it every time you use it.
