Direct drive coreless motor for stable rotation
For decades, Technics' direct-drive system has ensured precise, maintenance-free rotation. This mechanism, which directly rotates the platter with powerful torque, has evolved to offer even greater precision with an iron-coreless motor that eliminates cogging.
Ready for playback thanks to the built-in phono equalizer
The built-in phono equalizer allows instant playback without an external preamplifier. A short internal signal path minimizes noise and preserves signal integrity, while the circuitry is completely bypassed when using an external phono equalizer.
High quality Ortofon 2M RED cartridge

Pure sound thanks to the phono equalizer circuit, perfected by rigorous listening
To preserve purity, the phono equalizer circuit has been refined through repeated listening tests. For high-quality, low-noise sound, shielding, dedicated ± power supplies, and separate grounding reduce interference.
2-layer platter with improved damping
The platter on which the vinyl is placed has a two-layer construction: a die-cast aluminium platter reinforced with ribs on the back side and a rubber layer to eliminate unwanted resonances.
Aluminium S-shaped tonearm
The arm tube is made of lightweight, high-rigidity aluminium. The gimbal arm bearing section consists of a machined housing and a high-precision bearing to ensure high sensitivity to initial movement.
High rigidity cabinet
The die-cast aluminium chassis is rigidly integrated with a special composite of ABS mixed with glass fibre to achieve a two-layer structure. The combination of this special high-rigidity material and a metal chassis has brought rigidity and vibration damping performance to new levels, creating a robust cabinet for splendid sound reproduction.
High damping isolation
The insulation consists of a spring and rubber to ensure optimal frequency characteristics. This not only ensures high sound quality and excellent, noise-free reproduction, but also effectively eliminates external vibrations even at high sound levels.
Automatic tonearm
When the tonearm reaches the end of the record, the Auto Lifter function automatically raises the head. This prevents unnecessary wear and tear on the precious vinyl and stylus.
By incorporating the Auto Lifter function into the base of the tonearm, direct impacts to the tonearm are eliminated. Thanks to a simple design that does not use motor power, the functions required for record playback have been minimized, resulting in simple operation.
Cardboard padding and packaging materials
The SL-1500CS uses eco-friendly cushioning and packaging materials to help reduce marine plastic and other environmental problems. The cushioning has been replaced with styrene foam and corrugated cardboard, reducing the amount of plastic used by approximately 70% compared to the current product packaging. We've also taken measures to improve convenience by combining accessories in a single box and maintaining the cushioning's strength to protect against the product's heavy weight.
